Projekttreffen in Ungarn 25.-30. September 2013

Our Comenius project involves 5 partner schools from Finland, Germany, Hungary, Poland and the United Kingdom. Its theme incorporates the healthy learning environment in schools and the factors which contribute to this, which include tolerance of others, equality and well-being. The project was launched in schools by a questionnaire which encouraged as many students as possible to consider various aspects of well-being within their own learning environment. Its findings formed the basis of the project. As well as work taking place in schools, the project allows 2 – 3 project meetings to take place each year, with each school represented by a group of students, staff and, where possible, head teachers. Students take part in international workshops, run by teaching staff, over a four day meeting and present their findings at the end of the visit. At the same time, the head teachers of the various schools take part in a conference which enables them to discuss the themes of the project and its progress. Su7ch meetings encourage a strong bond between the schools leaders, teachers and student body from the participating schools. Each school has the opportunity to host one project meeting during the two year project. Additionally, teacher exchanges take place each term. Teachers visit a school within the partnership and work within their subject area. They are accompanied by two students whose role is that of a detective, finding out information about the host school and comparing and contrasting school life with their own.
