Sam had three brothers, which was nice.

The brothers, one of whom was Tim, her twin, always helped her.

Tim, whose smile was identical to hers, was her best friend.

But all (that) she knew of her father was his name.

Her father had left on a boat the name of which her mother had never told them.

Before leaving their father had said nothing would stop him from returning to them.

But apparently something had gone wrong, and he’d never been heard of since.

The siblings all had different memories of their father, but none of them wanted to tell them to the others.

In fact, each of them was sure he would return one day.

And who knows, anything might happen, even that.

Their mother was anything but happy about their pining for their father.

Her motto was: dreaming of the impossible causes nothing but trouble for you.

The kids often had to repeat what she said when she mentioned that motto.

However, there was something / – the kids didn’t know.

They all had different fathers, apart from Sam and Tim of course, both of whom almost definitely had the same father.

There are two kinds of people: some need mottos while others feel mottos are useless.

I believe it is, above all, your personal choice how you react to them.
