Lübeck, Germany

Last Day, Day 8 (12.10)

Tekijä: Linda Silinch
Our flight was at 6 or 7 pm from Hamburg but we were there already at 10am. Before that the german students came with us to the trainstation and said farewell to us.
We went shopping, eating and walkin around and just enjoying our last moments in Germany. And then we went to our flight and were back in Finland in two hours. We all were so tired, but it's good to be back home again. I've missed my family a lot.

The First Day (5.10)

Tekijä: Linda Silinch
The day started at 4am when we came to the school. We went by bus to the Helsinki Vantaa airport and there we took our flight to the Hamburg, Germany. Everyone was pretty tired, but still excited to meet our hosts, teachers and other students. Unfortunately, it was raining hard and while we were getting to Lübeck. When we arrived there, we had to walk to the school and we´ve got all wet.
After our meet with the Erasmus students and teacher, we went to eat burgers at Peter Pan. After that host families picked us to their homes.
The rest of the evening was good. I talked all evening with my host family and get to know something about them. They told me about that thing called marzipans, the sweets, cakes etc. that you can get from the real Marzipan store in Lübeck.

Day 2: Hansapark (6.10)

Tekijä: Linda Silinch
At 9am we all had to meet at the trainstation. Luckily, today was a good weather, just right for the Hansa-Park! There we went to the all kind of rollercoasters. We took a lot of photos. It was sweet that there were some refugees with us to learn some German language and have some fun as well. After Hansa-Park we went to explore some parts of Lübeck and of course we went to do some shopping too.

Trip to Hamburg, Day 3 (7.10)

Tekijä: Linda Silinch
It was a free day and we could spent the day with the host families. But part of our group decided to go to Hamburg and I went there as well. Unfortunately the weather was bad again. We went to shopping and then eat pizza or pasta at restaurant called Vapiano. The food was good.
No one did buy that much stuff from there because we had no time. But luckily, on a day when we will leave, we will go back there. But there was an Apple Store that was cool looking inside!!
In the evening some of us went to the bowling, but I prefered to spent the evening with my host family.

Theory Day (Day 4) (8.10)

Tekijä: Linda Silinch
Today was the theory day at Ernestinen Schule. The German teachers did split us into a few groups and gave us different tasks about immigration. My group task was to do a post about European Union and the refugee crisis. Then we had to do a video, and my group did about how to make more safe trip to Europe without of a risk of dying etc. We also talked about how to make migrants and refugees feel like at home in other country on our video. The tasks were pretty hard, but we made it some way. After that we went to eat burgers (again) to Peter Pane. After meal everyone had their own plans. I went with my host family to St. Petri's church and there was a tower where you could see a beautiful view of Lübeck.

Day 5: Church Asylum

Tekijä: Linda Silinch
Today we visited Kloster Nütschau and learned about church asylum. There were three asylum seekers that told about their long trip to the safe country like Germany. They were very interesting and it was the best part of everything in church asylum. Can you believe it, they had do go through at least five countries to get there! Unbelievable! I didn't take any pictures of that place because I wanted to show some respect.
After that I went with some of my friends to the city to go through some sightseeings, visit the Marzipan shop and other shops and just hanging out with my friends.

Berlin, Day 6 (10.10)

Tekijä: Linda Silinch
We had to wake up very early to go to Berlin. We went by bus and yes, I slept almost all the way there. In Berlin The Story of Berlin -museum and we finns got a guided tour to the bunker. When we were in it, it felt like we were really in a war. It was dark, and there wasn't that much space, even when the museum took some of the beds away. It was the most interesting part of the whole museum. After that we went to eat at some restaurant and then went to explore Berlin in smaller groups. We saw the Holocaust memorial, Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg’s gate, Victory column, the Berlin TV tower and even managed to go shopping! But we hadn't that much time to shop, but every of us still bought something. At the end of the trip we all were very exhausted, but we had sweet talk with girls all the way back to Lübeck. It was a lovely day.

Day 7 (11.10)

Tekijä: Linda Silinch

It was our last day when we are together. We went to the Ernestinen Schule lessons. I visited German lesson and I hoped that I would understand something, but unfortunately, the teacher and class did not talk anything. After that we went to the city tour to see some sightseeings (but I saw them already in the beginning of the week). But there still was something new to me, because city guider told us some information about sightseeings what was pretty interesting.

After that I went to the supermarket with my host family and bought some ingredients for making food because we had our very last meeting at school canteen where we had our farewell party. We sang songs, talked and ate delicious food. When I had to leave I started to cry because I realized how much I'm going to miss all of the Erasmus project people.
But that wasn't the end of my day. I went to the concert with my host family. And it wasn't just a typical concert. It was a concert, where the crowd has to sing. It was so much fun! Everyone was singing, the atmosphere was so fantastic that I can't even decribe it. I sang all song and did even lost my voice, haha! I want to go there again!
After that we went home.
