Finnish activities

Here are some activities that we do in our school to be a green school.

1) Our school provides a school lunch for all the pupils. There is always food left after the lunch time. This food is packed again and taken to the elderly people who have low income.

2) Our school is located very close to the center of Pori. If our classes want to visit museums, library or have  sport lessons in the local sports hall we don't take a bus there. The pupils go there either on foot or by bike. It doesn't take a long time in a good company and you get some fresh air at the same time.

3) We recycle many things at our school, for example paper and cardboard. Many things can also be reused in crafts, art or even in teaching. Here are some examples.
Empty and washed milk cartons get a new life as plant pots.

Eggcells, covers of yoghurt jars, clothespins, Easter eggs' shells and many other things can be used in teaching. Here the students learn irregular verbs and Swedish nouns with the help of these items. You can also make games, like your own Scrabble with the caps of juice.

In addition to these three examples, we also turn off the lights when we leave the room. We recycle paper and books.

So nice to see your activities. We also do some activities that you describe in our school :-)
Great use of different materials! We love the idea of creating plant pots with milk cardboards! :)
I like your idea of using bottle caps to teach the irregular verbs! How smart!
I am going to try it with my older pupils and let you know!
We also liked the idea of offering any food left to people in need and your walking for the outdoors activities. What can we say about your flower pots. .Green and simple!
