09.6. Extra assignment: Draw a map of the world

Have you ever practiced drawing a map of the world?

Let us begin by sketching out the relative positions and sizes of the continents.

Use a pencil to sketch the following shapes:
Europe as a small, rectangular, horizontal box,
Africa as a large, rectangular, vertical box,
Asia as a large, horizontal triangle,
Australia as a small box,
North America as a large, vertical triangle (with the sharp end towards the south),
South America as a large, vertical triangle,
Antarctica as a large, horizontal box.
Draw the equator and the zero meridian in the drawing. By doing so, you can see whether or not the proportions of your map are correct.
