Futuuri ilmaisee tulevaisuudessa tapahtuvaa tekemistä. Englannin futuuri suomennetaan preesensmuodolla.

esim. I will call the ambulance -> Soitan ambulanssin.

Futuurin muodostamisessa käytetään apuverbiä WILL ja sen kielteistä muotoa WON'T. Kysymyslauseissa tekijän ollessa I tai we käytetään apuverbiä SHALL.

Futuurin muodostaminen myönteisissä lauseissa:  
  tekijä + will + verbin perusmuoto  

Futuurin muodostaminen kielteisissä lauseissa:
 tekijä + won't + verbin perusmuoto

I will go home.	I won't go home.	Shall I go home?

WILL lyhennetään usein 'LL.
esim. I'll go home, He'll buy a new car jne.

Tulevaisuudessa tapahtuvia asioita voidaan ilmaista myös käyttämällä PREESENSIÄ tai BE GOING TO rakennetta.

esim. I do this later tai I am going to do this tomorrow.
