  • batteries
  • paints
  • pressurized containers, such as aerosol cans
  • pesticides and disinfectants
  • strong acids, such as sulphuric acid 
  • medicines, syringes
  • waste oil
  • solvents, such as turpentine 
  • asbestos
  • fire hydrants and gas bottles 
  • thermometers that contain mercury.
