Erasmus+-trip to Romania 

 

On Sunday December 8th at 5 o'clock our trip started with a minibus from the school towards Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. We were very tired, but still we didn't sleep. We took a short break at a gasstation called Matkakeidas and continued our journey towards the airport where we ate lunch. From Bucharest we continued on a minibus towards Bacau. 

On Monday the school started with the teacher and the headmaster giving a speech and we got the Erasmus+-bags. Then a coffee break started and afterwards there were games get to know each other in the school gym. After school we left with a big group to bumpercars and we headed to the mall. We left the mall at four and then left for our hosts' homes. 

On Tuesday we took part in an English class. We had a few workshops. In the afternoon we went out for lunch and went to the planetarium where we had a guided tour. In the evening we went out to eat and walked around Bacau. We went to an art shop and a coffee shop, for example. We told Romanians about Finnish culture. 

On Wednesday we visited Brasov. There we ate good food and visited an old church called the Black church. We also admired the view of the city at a observation point. The journey to Brasov took about 4h, but the return trip 6h because there had been an accident on the road. 

Thursday began with a small surprise from the Romanians as two students from the school had prepared a small concert for the others. We also participated in some group activities and attended one lesson. After school, we went to the mall to eat. Then, in the evening, it was time for the farewell party and it was time for us to say goodbye to the others as we walked downtown. 

On Friday we were all very tired again. We hadn't slept the previous night. At 2 o'clock we boarded a minibus that played Romanian civic music for the entire four hours. At the Finnish airport we ate a very tasty meal. We bought candy for the train from the candy store.
