The Matching to the labor market project supports employers and job seekers in the capital area and in Seinäjoki

The Rehabilitation foundation and Valo-Valmennusyhdistys’ joint Matching to the labor market (Osuvuutta työmarkkinoille) project aims to create and develop a model of recruitment and job coaching for the benefit of both employers and job seekers. We offer job coaching that helps employers to recognise the work input they need and job seekers to express their own skillset.

The project supports employers throughout the recruitment process, from recognising necessary competencies to wording a job advertisement and finally recruiting a new employee. In the project, a business co-operation developer works in close collaboration with employers.

The project’s job coaching is especially geared toward job seekers who are in a difficult position on the job market, such as young people, people with a migrant background or people with a partial working capacity. The job coach helps employee and employer work together to adjust the workload to suit the employee’s working capacity. Adjustments may include clearly worded assignments, flexible working hours or a quiet workspace. Additionally, employees can adjust their work by finding working methods that suit them, for example by keeping a list of tasks or by adjusting their workstation to be more comfortable.

The Rehabilitation Foundation is piloting this method in the capital area and Valo-Valmennusyhdistus in the Seinäjoki area. In addition to the pilot regions, the project’s results are being widely disseminated nationwide. The project is being carried out between November 1, 2024, and April 4, 2027. Matching to the labor market is a sub-project of the “Job market of the future” coordination project and a central piece of the project family geared towards advancing matchmaking in the labour market.

Are you looking for an employee?

Does your company have work that needs doing? We will help you in recognising required competencies, wording a job advertisement and recruiting a new employee.

Are you looking for a job?

We will map out your strengths through job coaching. We will also find a company in our project network that can use your specific skillset.

A suitable job for everyone

A person with diminished or partial working capacity has had their working capacity reduced by e.g. illness, injury or a difficult living situation. The reduction in working capacity can be either temporary or permanent.

There are 65,000 people with partial working capacity in Finland who want to find employment.

An employee with partial working capacity will be able to apply their full working potential when the work suits their strengths and capacity. Even small changes in the workplace can help an employee to apply themselves.

We help employers and employees to work together on adjustments so that the workload better suits the employee’s working capacity. Adjustments may include clearly worded assignments, flexible working hours or a quiet workspace.

Additionally, we help employees to adjust their work by finding work methods that suit them, for example by keeping a list of tasks or by adjusting their workstation to be more comfortable.

Together we can build a more flexible and diverse working life!
