The Matching to the labor market project supports employers and job seekers in the capital area and in Seinäjoki

The Rehabilitation foundation and Valo-Valmennusyhdistys’ joint Matching to the labor market (Osuvuutta työmarkkinoille) project aims to create and develop a model of recruitment and job coaching for the benefit of both employers and job seekers. We offer job coaching that helps employers to recognise the work input they need and job seekers to express their own skillset.

The project supports employers throughout the recruitment process, from recognising necessary competencies to wording a job advertisement and finally recruiting a new employee. In the project, a business co-operation developer works in close collaboration with employers.

The project’s job coaching is especially geared toward job seekers who are in a difficult position on the job market, such as young people, people with a migrant background or people with a partial working capacity. The job coach helps employee and employer work together to adjust the workload to suit the employee’s working capacity. Adjustments may include clearly worded assignments, flexible working hours or a quiet workspace. Additionally, employees can adjust their work by finding working methods that suit them, for example by keeping a list of tasks or by adjusting their workstation to be more comfortable.

The Rehabilitation Foundation is piloting this method in the capital area and Valo-Valmennusyhdistus in the Seinäjoki area. In addition to the pilot regions, the project’s results are being widely disseminated nationwide. The project is being carried out between November 1, 2024, and April 4, 2027. Matching to the labor market is a sub-project of the “Job market of the future” coordination project and a central piece of the project family geared towards advancing matchmaking in the labour market.
