Müncheniläisten vierailu / Visit from Munich
Saksalaisten vierailu 12. - 18.3.2023
Lisäksi kävimme mm. tutustumassa XAMK:n pelialan koulutukseen, retkeilimme Käyrälammelta Paaskoskelle, kävimme keilaamassa, kokkailimme yhdessä ruokaa ja teimme seinämaalauksia. Kuvisope Ville Viinikaisen johdolla maalasimme upean taideteoksen koulun seinälle. Lisäksi jokainen osallistuja sai maalata kädenjälkensä Erasmus –sydämeen kielten luokan oveen.
Teimme viikon aikana julisteita liittyen peliteemaan ja niitä oli esillä ala-aulassa. Julisteissa käsiteltiin eri pelejä, erityisesti niiden hyötyjä ja haittoja. Suunnittelimme ryhmissä myös omat pelit. Pelien aiheina oli esimerkiksi kierrätys. Leivoimme myös perinteisiä suomalaisia leivonnaisia ja tarjosimme niitä perjantai-illan yhteisessä illanvietossa isäntäperheiden kanssa koululla.
Kokonaisuutena viikko oli hauska ja uskomme kaikkien oppineen sen aikana jotakin. Etenkin keilaamassa käyminen on jäänyt monien oppilaiden mieleen. Opimme myös esimerkiksi vähän saksaa ja opetimme saksalaisille suomea. Viikon aikana eräs tärkein opittu asia oli ihmisten kanssa kommunikoiminen ilman yhteistä äidinkieltä. Tällainen kokemus lisäsi oppilaiden rohkeutta käyttää vieraita kieliä. Oli myös hienoa oppia tuntemaan toisen maan kulttuuria enemmän.
Päivämme olivat aika tiiviitä ja pitkiä, mutta toki aikaa jäi myös vapaampaan yhdessäoloon. Saksalaiset oppilaat kävivät yhdessä isäntäperheidensä kanssa mm. KooKoon jääkiekko-ottelussa, laskettelemassa, ratsastamassa sekä Tykkimäen Saunalla. Kauppakeskus Veturi osoittautui varsin suosituksi paikaksi ja monet viettivät siellä iltaisin yhdessä aikaa. Viikon aikana nuoret ehtivät tutustua toisiinsa ja luoda toivottavasti läpi elämän kestäviä ystävyyssuhteita. Tavoitteenamme onkin tehdä vastavierailu Müncheniin parin vuoden sisällä. Tästä viikosta saimme erinomaisia kokemuksia ja intoa lisätä kansainvälistä toimintaa jatkossa. Toivottavasti tulevina lukuvuosina kansainvälisyys tulee näkymään koulussamme entistä vahvemmin.

Games in the 21st century
We had visitors from Munich, Germany on 12 - 18 March 2023 in our school.
Sunday
We were preparing our home for the guest and were really excited about it. In the evening we got to school and waited for the German students to arrive. When the students arrived we got matched to right families and went home. Then it was time to know eachother and the family.
Monday
We woke up early and went to school at 8.15 a.m. At school we made a presentation of our childhood games and we showed it to the class in German and Finnish. We played many games to get to know eachother. I made many new friends. It was really fun! We had our school lunch at 10.50 a.m. and we had some chicken lasagna. After that we got outside playing games like tervapata and had fun. Then we got into lobby and played games like ping pong, table football, video games and we were just chilling. After that we got to class and played Uno, Alias, Kimble and more games. At 14.50 p.m. we went home. Then we had some free time. Really many students visited the mall “Veturi” and some people were at sledding hill. We had a great first day!
Tuesday
The school started at 8.15 a.m. First, some students of 9th grade introduced the Finnish school system. Then we talked about what are the differences between Germany and Finland. Then we talked about games and what are the bad things and the good things in them. We chose one game and wrote the bad and good things on a paper (like a poster). We showed it to the class and spoke about it. Really many wrote about Fortnite. Our art teacher showed us what we are painting and then the German students painted a picture on the wall in groups. We had our school lunch at 10.50 a.m. We had a “treasure hunt” after the lunch and there were three questions about Finland in German and we had to answer to them. There were like 6 spots around the school. We got a sticker from every spot. After that we played some games downstairs like 8 ball, ping pong and table football. We played some time and then made some spaghetti for dinner. We went bowling at 17-18 and everyone had so much fun. Then we left home and really many went to hockey game in the evening. Successful day.
Wednesday
We went to school at 9.05 a.m. and visited some lessons. Then we got ready to leave to Repovesi, but we changed plans because of the weather. We got on a bus and went to Käyrälampi. We walked a bit and found the right path to walk. It was a really long path and we got really tired. We arrived at the campfire and ate our snacks like bread, juice, banana, hot chocolate, marshmallows and sausages. Some bought sweets from a little café. We had a huge snowball fight and it was really fun. The bus came to pick up us so we didn’t have to walk. We got to school at 15 and had free time for the rest of the day.
Thursday
We got to school at 9.05 a.m. and made our own games, which was really fun. The German students finished the wallpainting and wrote their names on it. Then we played some games in the gym and in the lobby. Then we ate some yogurt and banana in the home economics class. We walked to XAMK (South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences) and were shown their facilities and learned a lot. Then we got to another building and were divided into 12 groups and half of us went to play their touch game and the other half went to play some kind of big board game. If you won, you got a price. Then the host parents picked up us at 16.30 p.m. We had the rest of the day free.
Friday
We got to school at 9.05 a.m. In class we showed the games we made and talked about them. At the same time two students at a time painted their handprints on the door in a heart-shaped form. Then we wrote about the week and did evaluation. Then the ones who wanted to bake, baked buns and some baked karjalanpiirakka (“Karelian pastries”, which is a traditional Finnish dish). We also filled containers with juice and some of the buns burned. The others who didn’t want to bake made preparations for the evening and put the chairs on place and the posters on the wall. We left from school at 13.50 p.m. and got back at 17.30 p.m. We had a great time and ate some buns and drank juice.
