Welcome to Puistokadun päiväkotikoulu.

PLACE: LOBBY

We are now in the beautifully restored lobby of the wooden school building designed by Wivi Lönn. The renovation was made with the national board of Antiquities and was completed in the autumn 2014.

In the lobby there is a school library called Wivi which is already 101 years old. You probably notice that our school library has a lot of art on the walls. Therefore we can thank for 5th and 6th graders who have been cooperating with art museum on their art course and so after their course we we got these paintings chosen by these pupils for our joy.

PLACE: POPPELI

Next we will go to Poppeli which is our music classroom. As you may notice all our classrooms have names. We have a very lively music scene in our school and we regularly practise five bands and also a band for pupils aged 6-8 years old.

Now we move along the boulevard to the next side.

PLACE: THE BOULEVARD

In the evenings we have students and teachers working. 13 national language teachers are working in our school. That is why names of our classrooms are written in different languages like linden in French and Dutch.

This is the arthall of this boulevard. The name of the artgallery is "Old Sights from Jyväskylä". Students from the artcourse organized us the opening of the art gallery in the year of 2016.The new side of the school was finished in 2010 and there is also some art. Kirsi Tapper has made artwork to the school and also to the kindergarden. Right here you can see this work which has a great name " The Pig Curly Tail".

PLACE: EPPUAULA

Here at the new side of he school first graders study during daytime and in the afternoon our afterschool club start their activities.

Let´s go and have a look at the Lastula classroom where we do wooden work. Kissankello is a classroom for crafts lessons. After this we will go through Lystilä to the kindergarden side and then to we continue to the Garden, Puutarha, which is our dining room.

PLACE: LYSTILÄ

In Lystilä all pupils do sport exercices. We are finishing these learning stairs for smaller children in kindergarden so they can learn numbers and letters when these stairs are done. Now we can go upstairs to the lobby of the kindergarden.

PLACE: LATVUS

Here is Latvus, the staff´s resting area and on the other side of Laari, there is a workspace for teachers and adults. Normally children don´t use this space.

PLACE: THE GARDEN

In Puutarha, the Garden, we enjoy daily having school lunch together with kindergardeners. In the map of the world we can see the countries where our pupils are from. (so those flags are connected to the countries).
