Many administrative districts and counties of Bavaria have their own costume, so our region around Bamberg.

The Franconian costumes are worn by adults and children. Today they are adupted to modern realities. The previous costumes were elaborately designed, but not as convenient as today´s.

Wearing a costume is not as popuar and normal in Germany than in many other coutries. For historical reasons, the typical German characteristics were treated cautiously for many years.

We have got special clubs, where the costumes are worn for special events like funfair, weddings, and invitations to the "Munich Oktoberfest".

So in our region also folk dances aren´t as common as in other countries of Europe. Only in these clubs and events people are dancing.
