”Flower Thrower” was painted by Banksy in 2003. Banksy is a street artist from England whose indentity has remained secret until this day. His art consists of political and humoristic pieces of art. Banksy mostly uses stencils in his artworks. And as might be expected this piece of art is also created using stencils.  

I chose this picture because when you see this picture for the first time it looks a bit aggressive and at the same time calm because the man is holding a bouquet which calms down the picture. Also one thing that attracted my interest in this picture is that this picture is pretty mysterious like many other Banksy’s artworks. Most of his artworks look really realistic which makes them look magnificent. 

When you look the picture, your attention is probably paid to the man with scarf throwing a bouquet. The artist has mostly used black and white colours in this picture and little bit other colours in the bouquet. I think that the cropping of the picture has managed well. But I also think that the picture wouldn’t change significantly if man’s feet were cropped out of the picture. The picture could still be interpreted the same way. There is no background in the picture which simplifies the overview of it.  

The most important thing that can be seen from the picture is peace. The message of the picture is that peace should be maintained despite different conflicts happening around the world.
