• Erasmus+ is EU funded education, youth and sports programme, which enables co-operation in these fields in Europe.

 

• Alavuden yläkoulu takes part and coordinates 18 month lasting, EU funded Erasmus+ project starting in September 2022 and ending in March 2024.

 

• The partner organization comes from France (College Notre Dame Agde)

 

• The main objective of project The roots of our nations united in culture is to find music, art and education similarities in our countries. Some things are important in one's culture tan in the other one. But still we all are people that want to live in peace together. 

 

• We expect to make students and teatchers more interested in European projects, improve understanding and cooporation between cultures and nations. We are sure that people involved will use their language skills more efficiantly and learn new skills too. Students will learn key competences for life and make friends over borders. 

 

• The project aims to create positive experiences to all children, encourage to improve ones own strenghts and good habits, build self esteem and language skills and solve problems through co-operation. 

• Both schools will benefit from the participation in this project as students and teatchers will make friends to stay in contact with later. They will understand each others culture and roots as well as the importance of being united in the EU. The persons incolved will be prepared to take new steps in international projects and it will awaken their intrests in developing their school through different partnerships. It will open eyes to the world and they may become more active citizens in the European Union.

• Though all students at Alavuden yläkoulu get a chance to take part in the project, the most enthusiastic students can join the Erasmus club.

 

• Most of the project will be done through team meetings between Alavuden yläkoulu and College Notre Dame Agde. We also use our Instagram account, @therootsofournations and meet face to face in Agde, March 2023.
