Educational visit to the Agricultural University of Athens
A different lesson
A few weeks ago the 5th grade pupils had the opportunity to vistit the Agricultural University of Athens and attend an experiential workshop on the flora and fauna of Greece, about new agricultural methods and techniques in the cultivation of flowers and organic vegetables, the use of native herbs ,the honey process- from the bees and the honeycomb to their slice of bread- what a valuable food for a child to build a healthy body against any disease.
They also learnt about the breeding of farm animals like sheep, goats and cows which was the most interesting part for the boys alongside with the aquarium.
Most of the children were surprised when they saw the so- called Plato's olive tree from ancient Athens standing right there in front of them!
