Happy Earth Day Every Day!

This year, we celebrated Earth Day in our school on April 20th although we all know that we should celebrate Earth Day every day with our friendly actions towards our unique planet. So we sang and danced songs about  Earth and Nature  while  every grade created their own environmental posters spreading the message of love and care for Earth. We even made our own green salads with the lettuces and spring onions from our school garden.
At the end of this short celebration we formed a big circle, holding our hands together around Earth in a symbolic action to show that all the children of the world are determined to protect the Earth against any enemy, against any danger which would put "her" life at risk. They know, we know  that  "she" is our only home!

Let  Earth Day in the Greek school ...begin!

The Circle of Love around Earth

Earth! We are in it together!

Ν' αγαπάς ~ Do  love...

Do love the mountains and the seas, do!
The familiar places and the unknown,
The birds, the flowers, the clouds,
Do love the people very much, do!

Do love the wild animals and the fierce ones,
the islands, the rivers, the stars.
And if they ever wound you in the heart,
friends, wild beasts, white doves

love them,forget, find joy
in your own peace and in all the things
that brihten  our mind with love
and sprout lilies that never fade.

If you want to learn a part of this song,  here's another short video with the lyrics of the song sung by the same pupils in the classroom just for you.

You can find the lyrics of the songs in the attached files below.
