Have students listen to the foods named in the book and repeat them.
After listening, ask students questions like these:

• Did you see any of your favorite foods in the book?
• What is one food you saw in the book that you think animals will eat? Why do you think that?
• Why do you think the title of the book is Eating the Alphabet?

As an extension activity, students can make their own alphabet books - the category can be anything, not just fruits and vegetables!
