Säkylä secondary school teaches pupils from grade 7 through grade 9 according to the national core curriculum (in Finnish). The building houses Säkylä upper secondary school as well. 200 students are enrolled in Säkylä secondary school while 140 study in Säkylä upper secondary school. The municipalities of Säkylä and Köyliö were merged in the beginning of 2016 forming the municipality of Säkylä, and all secondary school students from the Lalli secondary school in Köyliö were transferred to Säkylä in the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year. The school building was extensively renovated in 2010-2011.

The primary medium of communication between pupils' guardians and the school is Wilma.

Säkylä secondary school gives 75-minute lessons. There are four lessons every day.

The school meal is served between 11.20 and 12.05 according to a specific schedule which varies from period to period according to the pupils' grade.
