RAUMA 18.-23.4.2015

Saturday 18th of April Our guests arrived to Rauma. Meeting the guests in the school yard. Everyone was excited and it was unbelievable.

Sunday 19th of April We all met in Old Rauma and started our city orienteering in color groups. Then the host families took their guests and ate with them. After that it was the time to go to Helmiranta. There we were swimming in the ice cold sea and the guests got to try the Finnish sauna. There was also two hot tubs where you could just be in warm water. We ate sausages and played some games together. We had great time.

Monday 20th of April First day of school. The school day started at 9 AM. It was very exciting to bring the foreigner guests to a Finnish school. Then we split up in two groups. The other one visited the home economics class and made Carelian pies while the other group played games to get to know each other better. The games were really funny and we laughed a lot. After this all the colour groups started writing their own script for the movie. Then all the groups represented the scripts and we chose the best one that we would produce. We got to leave the school a bit earlier than usual. Everyone spent the evening with the host families.

Tuesday 21st of April In the morning we went to school again. Everyone chose what they would like to do in the movie project. The options were making of, producers, actors, music team, tech-team and animation team. The script writers started working on the script more closely. The tech-team started learning how filming works. The animation team made their animation characters out of paper. If someone didn’t have anything to do, they could try to learn how to make lace. The making of team was filming the whole thing. After lunch the filming project started. The animation team started doing their animation and everything was on full-speed. The evening we spent in the host families.

Wednesday 22nd of April The filming project continued. The music team produced music in music class. Half of the tech-team started to edit the movie. We printed our hands with colorful paints next to our project logo on our school wall. In the evening most of us came to play to the school yard before our farewell party. We ate pizza and watched the trailer of our movie. We also wathed the animation and the making of film. Some of us gave speeches about the week and everything that has happened.

Thursday 23rd of April The host families and their guests gathered at the school 7.50 AM. Everyone was hugging and saying goodbyes over and over again. Many of the girls started crying. Then the bus came. It was so sad and our guests had to leave Rauma. We waved at them and one boy even ran after the bus.
