The material is intended primarily for 7th grade CLIL visual arts or other English-language content teaching according to the Finnish National Core Curriculum. The material can be given to the pupils as such, and includes texts, images and tasks.

This material demo is designed as part of a Master´s thesis at the University of Lapland. The purpose of the thesis is to develop a functional material for bilingual/CLIL visual arts teaching in Finland. The material is built around the objectives and requirements of the National Core Curriculum (2014).

Before the material was made, a questionnaire was carried out. The questionnaire was posted to visual arts teachers around the country and the aim was to find out which themes, techniques and materials the respondents found most important to include in the material. 

Thie results of the questionnaire have been kept in mind while building the material. While some techniques and themes are not included in the finished chapters of the demo version, most have been included in the section drafts. Additionally, two bilingual visual arts books from different countries have been analysed for extra information on building a CLIL textbook.
