The eyes are your visual organs. They detect and process light, and make you see the things arond you. The surface of the eye contains a transparent membrane known as the cornea. The cornea can be damaged if a sharp object or a spark comes to contact with it. This is why wearing protective glasses is important!
In addition to damage to your corneas, bright and strong lights can damage the sensory cells, which are located in the eye's retina.
