Creating a good password
A strong password prevents your account, data and other resources from being accessed without permission. If your password is strong and you change it regularly, it is hard for a third party to guess or find out.
A strong password should always have:
- Capitalized and small letters
- Numbers
- Symbols
- At least 8 characters
Do not use the following in your password:
- Your personal info
- Common words
- Your account name, real name, or the name of your family member or pet.
- Easily accessible information, such as your phone number, the license plate number of your car, your street address, etc.
A password should be memorable, so that you can always remember it and so that you do not have to write it down. If you do write your password down, please remember to keep it stored in a secure location.
Always use different passwords for all your important accounts.
