FAQ

I have forgotten my username or password. What do I do?

  • You can reset your username and password by accessing peda.net/:recovery. To achieve this, your Peda.net user account must be connected to a verified email address. A verified email address is an address that has been authenticated either during or after sign-up. If you do not have an authenticated email address connected to your account, you must contact info@peda.net.

I remember my username and password, but still cannot log in. What do I do?

  • You can log in with either your username or verified email address and your password. When logging in to the service, please note that the username, email and password fields are case-sensitive. This means that capital letters and numbers must be written exactly as they have been registered during sign-up. iPad and iPhone users should note that their devices often capitalize the first letter of an email address.

I am trying to reset my user information with the Peda.net robot, but the system does not recognize my email address. What do I do?

  • If you have connected your Peda.net account to a verified email address, you can reset your login information with the Peda.net robot at peda.net/:recovery. If your email address is not recognized by the system, the reason might be that your email address contains uppercase or lowercase letters that differ from the address you have registered. Peda.net differentiates between uppercase and lowercase letters in email addresses. It is also worth noting that iPads and iPhones tend to automatically use uppercase initials in text fields.

How do I distinguish the accounts of two users with the same name?

  • All Peda.net user accounts are unique. People with the same name can be distinguished from one another by looking at their account names. If you are logged in, you can use the user search function to search for users based on their name. By clicking on the name of a user, you can access their profile. The account name of the user can be seen the profile’s address field in the form .../peda.net/p/user.name. You can also distinguish different users from one another based on their profile pictures, profile descriptions or profile URLs, which can be accessed by using the “Share” function.

I accidentally deleted a page/module. Can it be recovered?

  • You can recover deleted pages or modules by writing “:restore” after the address of the page from which the material has accidentally been deleted. The “:restore” command displays a list of all the materials that have been deleted from the page and can be restored.

I am trying to watch a video that has been uploaded to Peda.net, but it does not work?

  • When a video file is uploaded to the Peda.net platform directly, the video is not converted in any way. This means that the format of the video remains the same as it was before it was uploaded. Because of this, the user’s choice of web browser determines whether the video can be played. Different browsers support different video formats. The safest and surest way to guarantee that a video can be viewed with all browsers is to use an external service, such as YouTube, that converts the video to multiple formats that can be viewed with all browsers. After uploading the video to an external service, the video can be embedded into Peda.net using iframe. Please note that YouTube and Vimeo videos can also be embedded to Peda.net by writing down the address of the video into a module.

Why is there not a Peda.net app for mobile devices?

  • Peda.net has been developed in a way that guarantees that the platform can be used with all devices without separate apps. Depending on your device, you may be able to add a Peda.net bookmark to your front page.

I have registered to Peda.net. Is my personal information visible on the internet?

  • Your username, first and last names, profile picture and your profile description are public, and accessible to all internet users. If you create content to a page other than your profile page, the publicity of your content is determined by the administrator of the page to which the content is added.

How is my content on Peda.net backed up?

  • A backup copy is created from Peda.net on every weekday, beginning from 24.00 (GMT+2). The backup copy is stored at Peda.net’s backup server, which is located away from the main servers. The contents of the backup server are copied to two different external hard drives, which are stored in a location that is separate from both the main and backup servers. If there is a disturbance in the main servers, information can be restored at the accuracy of a single day (from the period of the past seven days) or week (from the period of the past four weeks).
