Assessment modules

Assessment modules

Assessment modules are used to collect goals and criteria from assessment frameworks for evaluation.

Implementing an assessment module:

  1. Open a course page.
  2. Create a subpage for assessments by clicking on the “Create a new page” button from the navigation menu.
  3. Create a new assessment module by clicking on the “Other tool” link and selecting the “Assessment module” option. Give your assessment module a title.
  4. To add goals and criteria to your assessment module, click on “Add goals and criteria”. You will be redirected to a page that displays a list of assessment frameworks that have been created for the page in question. Select an assessment framework and click on “Save and continue to select goals”
  5. Select the goals you want to include in the assessment module and click on “Save and continue to select criteria”.
  6. Select the criteria you want to include in the assessment module and click on “Save and continue to sharpen criteria”. You will be directed to a page where you can define the criteria more clearly by giving them more detailed descriptions. After writing the descriptions, click on “Save and return to modify view”.
  7. You will be redirected back to the assessment module’s modify view. Here, you can select whether the assessments are done by the teacher or the students themselves by selecting the correct options from the “Assessment methods” menu. When you are finished modifying the assessment module, click “Save”.
  8. You can now add users to the assessment module by clicking on the “Add users” button. You will be directed to a page that displays all the participants of the course. Select the participants you wish to include in the assessment and click “Save”.
  9. Now, the assessment module can be used by the teacher to view an overview of the assessments of each student on their course. The teacher can add evaluations for participants by clicking on their assessment cards. The teacher can also view a summary of the evaluations by clicking on the “Summary” button.
  10. The participants can use the assessment module to view an overview of their own assessments. If self-evaluation assessments are selected as the module’s assessment methods, the participants can also complete self-evaluation assessments from the module.
