Valtimo is a municipality of Finland.
It is located in the province of Eastern Finland and is part of the North Karelia region. Valtimo has a population of 2,310 and covers an area of 838.10 square kilometres of which 37.75 km2 is water. The population density is 2.89 inhabitants per square kilometres.
In Valtimo there are stores, hair saloons, restaurants and a gas station.
Also there is a towns hall and a rest home for old people.
For youngsters theres a youth centre and a skating ring which are both in heavy use.
4H arranges youth activities and trips.
Also there is a swimming beach and a disc golf course next to eachother.
