Guidelines for the Presentations
Oral Presentation
In oral presentations, speakers will present their recent research, followed by a discussion with the audience. When preparing their presentations, presenters are encouraged to consider the diversity of the conference audience, which includes not only researchers but also policymakers and practitioners. Accordingly, presenters may wish to devote adequate time to outlining new findings and discussing their potential implications for policymaking and practice.
Each session will consist of four oral presentations. Each presentation is limited to 15 minutes, followed by a 5‑minute discussion with the audience. After all presentations, a 10‑minute concluding discussion will take place. The organizers will appoint a non-presenting chair for each session to facilitate discussion and keep the session on schedule.
Each room used for oral presentations will be equipped with a computer, digital projector, and internet access. Conference assistants will be available in the session rooms, alongside the session chair, to help with uploading presentations onto the computer.
Please arrive at the session room at least 10 minutes before the start of the session and have your presentation saved on a flash drive. Alternatively, you may send your presentation to the organizers in advance via email (piaac-conference@jyu.fi), no later than the previous evening.
Poster Presentation
The posters will be thematically grouped by the organizing committee. We kindly ask the authors to be present in the poster session slot and to prepare a 5-minute presentation of their poster.
Posters should be printed in A0 or A1 format. As the poster boards are vertical (portrait), posters must also follow this orientation. Posters should include the key elements of the study, including the title, authors’ names, and institutional affiliations. Work in progress may be presented in cases where data are not yet available. Otherwise, there is flexibility in content and structure; no specific guidelines or templates apply.
Please be aware that your poster will be viewed from a distance. All text should therefore be large enough to be read from approximately 1.5 m away. Presenters are encouraged to prepare A4 handouts and may also include a QR code directing viewers to an online version of the poster. Poster boards and materials for attaching posters will be provided. Please hang your poster after completing your registration in the Ruusupuisto lobby so that it is accessible to participants throughout the conference.
