It was a calm night. There were no sounds. Jared was sitting on his bed reading a book about supernatural experiences. He was really interested in that kind of stuff. Suddenly he heard a growling sound. He got a little scared but soon realized that it was his stomach. He went to get some food from his tiny kitchen. He lived in an apartment building not far from his university. Jared turned on the lights and opened the fridge which was empty. He was disappointed and closed the door. Right before the fridge door closed the lights went out. He got a little confused. He immediately thought about the things he had read about but quickly forced those thoughts from his mind. He had to take an apple from the fruit bowl and after that went back to his bedroom to sleep. He woke up to a loud crash coming from the kitchen and decided to go look at what caused the sound. He tried to switch on the lights but nothing happened.

Everything was dark… Jared thought about what he had read and became more and more scared. He heard a door open and decided to go to the living room to see what was happening. When he got to the living room and looked at the door, he saw that it was quite windy and that was the reason why the door was wide open. Jared decided to go back to the room and try to sleep, but he couldn't stop thinking about the story he had been reading before and the similarities to what was happening. As he was climbing up the stairs, he heard footsteps very close to him, so Jared ran up to his room, but when he arrived, he noticed that his white curtains were torn into a thousand pieces, and some Chemistry books were scattered all around the floor. Suddenly, a bad rotten smell spread in the room. He found a big fat rat split into two parts by a giant bite. A very loud sound scared him again, it was a metal ladder that fell on top of a pile of bushes behind his window. Extremely carefully, he leaned out the window and saw a strange animal who had three lion heads. Little by little, the sky lit up. He woke up in his room with the books in his arms. What a weird sweet dream, right? or maybe, not?
