He made the Wolf lie on his side and told him open his jaws as wide as he could. That way the Crane could put his long neck down the Wolf’s throat and with his beak he attempted loosen the bone. At last he managed get it out. “Will you now be kind and hand me the reward I should be given?” said the Crane. The Wolf began grin. He showed his teeth and told the Crane be content. “You were happy enough put your head inside a Wolf’s mouth and I let you take it out again in one piece.
