  • They have varied body forms i.e unicellular, microscopic, or multicellular thalloids.
  • They have cellular membranes hence eukaryotic.
  • They have many organelles which have membranes
  • Some are heterotrophic and autotrophic.
  • Asexual reproduction through fission, fragmentation or sporulation
  • They are mobile by use of pseudopia, cilia or flaggela.
  • Have specialized structures for specific tasks e.g contractile vacuoles for osmoregulation.
