General characteristics
- They have varied body forms i.e unicellular, microscopic, or multicellular thalloids.
- They have cellular membranes hence eukaryotic.
- They have many organelles which have membranes
- Some are heterotrophic and autotrophic.
- Asexual reproduction through fission, fragmentation or sporulation
- They are mobile by use of pseudopia, cilia or flaggela.
- Have specialized structures for specific tasks e.g contractile vacuoles for osmoregulation.
