THE FUTURE TENSE:
1. I futuuri (WILL-futuuri)
I will / I'll sing a song to her.
I will not / won't sing at all.
I will make her fall in love with me. = I'll make her fall in love with me.
will not = won't
Will you come to school next week? - No, you won't because we have an autumn  break next week.

2. futuurin kestomuoto
will + be + -ing-muoto

I will be checking my email next week as usual.
Will you be looking after my kids next week? (kohtelias; taivutteleva)

3. be going to do s-g
aikominen
What are you going to do after school?
I am going to apply to university. = I'm going to apply to university.
Marc is going to live abroad. He's going to move away from Finland.

NB! väistämättömät sääilmiöt:
I think it is going to rain soon. = I think it's going to rain soon.
Tomorrow it's going to snow in Kuusamo.

4. kestopreesens
käytetään varsinkin lähitulevaisuudessa
I am seeing her at five.
I am seeing her in five. (= in five minutes' time)
Tomorrow morning Nikolai is flying to Turkey.

5. SHALL
käytetään kysymyksissä, jos subjektina on I tai we:
Shall I close the door?
Shall we go?

shall not = shan't

6. YLEISPREESENS
a) if-lauseissa / ehtoa ilmaisevissa (= konditionaalisissa) sivulauseissa:
I will be happy if she likes it.
We will go out tomorrow unless it rains.
= if it doesn't rain
if / unless = if not = ellei, jollei // provided / providing that / in case = siinä tapauksessa, että
We'll go together in case / providing / provided that Marc comes.
b) aikaa ilmaisevissa (temporaalisissa) SIVUlauseissa: EI FUTUURIA
I will love you as long as I live.
Marc will come over next month as soon as he arrives in Finland.
Once you see him, you will like him.
Before Marc leaves, he will visit us.
Marc will come to see us tomorrow / next week when he comes home.

a university (u äänetään j:nä ja se on semi vowel (= puolivokaali), joka jo luetaan konsonantiksi englanniksi)
It takes an hour to drive to Lahti. (an hour /auo/: h:ta ei äännetä)
