Cygnaeus school is an elementary school which currently has about 400 students. Inaugurated in 1912, Cygnaeus school recently celebrated its 110 year anniversary in 2022.

Cygnaeus school is located at the southern end of the beautiful Puistokatu which runs across the town of Pori. Pori city offers weighted art and music classes in Cygnaeus school which begin in the 3rd grade. You can apply for the weighted art and music classes in January when a child is in the 2nd grade.

Since 2001, Pori's English speaking classes have been operating in Cygnaeus school for grades 1 to 6. You can apply for the English speaking classes in the spring of the preschool year. In connection with Cygnaeus school, there is also an English speaking preschool group in the same building.

Cygnaeus school prides itself on its multiculturalism and welcomes children from around the world. There are currently students from 23 different countries enrolled in the school. English is studied at school from the 1st grade as a foreign language, and from the fourth grade, students can choose French, German or Swedish as their A2 language.
