When my uncle Harry was a young man, he was working in an old bingo hall to pay for his studies. He (oli kuullut) some stories that there was a ghost there, but like everyone else he thought it was a load of nonsense. "Ghosts! Nobody believes in them", he thought.

Then one evening he (pyydettiin) to go and switch on the lights in the main bingo hall. To do that, he had to climb up the stairs to the top floor. The building was very dark and silent. "This doesn't feel right", he said to (itsekseen) as the hairs in the back of his neck were standing up. " (Jos menisin) back now, everyone would laugh at me", Uncle Harry thought and decided to go in.

As he pushed the door open, he froze. He saw a bright light (joka) was coming down from the ceiling to the floor. Otherwise the room was totally black. He was shaking as he looked at the stream of light and eventually managed to turn the lights on. Then he ran downstairs as (nopeasti) as he could.

Later on that same evening it was time to switch off the lights. Uncle Harry was (hermostuneempi kuin) ever before but also curious because he wanted to see if the stream of light was still there. But it was gone. As he looked around the room with a torch in his hand he noticed that there were no windows in it. All he could see were (hiiriä) running around in the corners of the room. Ever since that evening Uncle Harry has been convinced that there are ghosts in every old building. There (saattaa) even be some in the one you are in right now...
