Cabbage and Ground Beef Soup 4-6 portions

INGREDIENTS
400 g minced beef
1 tbsp olive oil
1 diced onion
1 garlic clove , finely chopped
½ tsp dried thyme
½ tsp dried marjoram
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper

7 dl roughly chopped cabbage
2 sliced carrots
2 sliced celery ribs
7 dl beef stock
7 dl water
1 dl tomato paste
2 bay leaves
2½ dl cooked rice

1. Cook and stir ground beef in a large saucepan, for about 5 minutes.
Set the beef aside.
2. Heat oil in the saucepan.
Add onion, garlic, thyme, marjoram, salt, pepper and cloves.
Cook and stir for about 5 minutes or until onion is soft.
3. Add cabbage, carrots and celery.
Cook, stirring, for about 3 minutes.
4. Add stock, water, tomato paste and bay leaves. Stir.
5. Put the beef back in the saucepan and bring to boil.
Reduce heat, cover with lid and let simmer for about 15 minutes
or until cabbage is tender.
6. Add cooked rice.
7. Serve the soup with bread.
