This course is designed for students who have taken Ahjola's Suomi 2 course or studied similar topics elsewhere. Coursebook: Suomen Mestari 3, chapters 1-4. If needed, we will revise some topics of Suomen Mestari 2, for instance posessive suffixes (-ni, - si, -nsa etc.), different forms of an object and the plural (particularly i-monikko). Vocabulary covered in this course is related to history, society, art, culture and environmental protection. Grammar includes the conditional and the passive cases. The course includes independent studies using the textbook.

 

In this course you are welcome to ask anything you've been wondering about Finnish, we will discuss various topics and think about them together in a friendly and accepting atmosphere. Mistakes are processed in a way that helps you remember the material and use what you've learned to your own benefit. Imperfections and spontaneity are valued and encouraged as we develop the version of Finnish that works for you.
