Most of town people were shopkeeper, traders and craftsmen. Besides thers buisness they had land to keep growing, so that they could keep themselves healthy and energetic. They had a lot of work to do and they had no option of leaving it un done.
Some off the towns grew around monasteries and castles because the security was better and it was safer for the townspeople.Only the merchants had servants and the power to give orders to others. Once a year they had a day where everyone was equal so they had a bid fair, that all towns markets come together and help the ones that are not in as good position as them.
