All the following activities support the language development in Finnish:

- Read Finnish magazines and books at home with your child - Start from your child's language level
- Listen to podcasts in Finnish, ask your child to tell about them
- Encourage your child to watch Youtube videos in Finnish of the topics they like (there are plenty of different kind of vlogs)
- Encourage your child to read novels in Finnish (children have to do book reports from the books if they aim for a reading diploma =6 books/a year)
- Show an example in reading
- Read newspaper in Finnish together
- Encourage your child to communicate in Finnish outside the school
- Ask your child to read stories or other texts that have been written in Finnish at school
- Online games in Finnish
