Yli 50 % Intian asukkaista on alle 25-vuotiaita, ja vain 5,7 % yli 65-vuotiaita. Intian väkiluvun ennustetaan ohittavan Kiinan, koska jälkimmäisessä lapsiluku on paljon pienempi. Näin myös hindujen määrä lisääntynee tulevaisuudessa.
