Study Guidance in Konnevesi Upper Secondary School
Studying in Upper Secondary School is a lot more independent than in comprehensive school. This requires both students’ own activity and efficient and comprehensive study guidance. The aim of study guidance is to support the students in every way both in studies, planning further studies and in matters concerning choice of career. Also special attention is paid to study technique so that every student would have as good opportunities as possible to manage their studies in upper secondary school.

Study guidance offers three courses, two of which are compulsory for everyone and the third is optional, a specialisation course. It is possible to get personal counselling whenever a student needs it. The compulsory study guidance courses include also information about further studies, a work life excursion day in the second year and visits to Studia Exhibitions every year. During the second and third year there is also a visit to Jyväskylä University and Polytechnics to find out more about further studies. The student counsellor is mainly responsible for study guidance. Also group advisors and teachers of each subject give guidance on their behalf. Come to have a chat!
