Exchange Year in Finland

Last year, Maria, a (espanjalainen) student from Madrid, came to (Suomi) as an exchange student. Before she arrived, she (oli opiskellut) Finnish for nearly six months. However, she still thought that (-) would be difficult to communicate with local people.
