Rebecca from Italy

Hi, I'm Rebecca and I'm an Exchange student. I live in Laukaa, a small Town in the middle of Finland where four months ago a wonderful family decided to host me for six months. I am aware that this year is such a particular year because, due to pandemic, there are a lot of restrictions and rules to follow. This situation, however, even if it's really hard, is not stopping me to live my exchange experience in the best way. My life here is very different from mine in Italy. Here in Laukaa I live in a big house with a backyard (in Italy normally houses don't have a garden unless you live in the countryside).

Four months ago I started going to the High school in Laukaa, which gave me the chance to find out and learn a new kind of scholar system. The Finnish scholar system is completely different from the Italian one and, even only for that reason, I can say that it's very fascinating. In this school, with my huge surprise, every single person Is extremely curious, they want to know everything about my home country. I think that one of the most important things in the life is the dialogue with other people, knowing new points of view: only in this way the human bring can grow and have personal thoughts. Here, in lukio, every day my friends ask me lot of questions about my habits in Italy and at the same time, with their help and their patience, I'm finding answers to the hundreds and hundreds questions that I have about this amazing country and people who live in.

I would like to say more bit there are too many things to tell: unforgettable moments, fears, my personal change,...

See you soon
