Adapted Physical Activity

The Inclusion Spectrum

"The Inclusion Spectrum was developed by Ken Black and Pam Stevenson. The Inclusion Spectrum is an activity-centred approach to the inclusion of young people of all abilities in sport. Inclusion can be achieved by changing the way in which the activity is presented by providing coaches and volunteers with different methods of supporting inclusion."

Video: Supporting a physically active lifestyle belongs to everyone

Here you can watch a video (3:45 min) in which we see Sisu, a sixth-grade student who uses mobility aids, participating in the school’s physical activities, and hear Sisu’s and their classmates’ thoughts on equality and participation.

Encouraging a physically active lifestyle and supporting it in the school environment as well as during physical education classes should be accessible to every student, regardless of their functional ability.
