Our week at Kouvolan Yhteislyseo was incredibly beautiful and enriching, both professionally and personally. Our colleagues Mika, Eija, and Vili welcomed us warmly and guided us in discovering their school and Finnish culture. We not only had the opportunity to observe how lessons in English, Spanish, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, History, Philosophy, and Latin are conducted, but we also explored the surroundings of Kouvola — walking through nearby forests or diving into Lake Käyrälampi after a refreshing sauna, chatting with our hosts and exchanging perspectives on teaching.

Thanks to their suggestions, we also visited the wonderful Sibelius Hall in Lahti and the amazing Suomenlinna Fortress in Helsinki. These were days of deep and rejuvenating immersion in another country, another culture, surrounded by teachers who, like us, live the world of education with passion, dedication, and a true sense of sharing.
