Is There Anything Worse Than A Nightmare?

I am Cheryl and last night I was having a horrible nightmare of the rain. I had a normal morning but I noticed that my parents werent home. It was raining but the rain turned people into real life zombies. They went crazy and didn't want anything more than kill humans and eat them. I watched them from the window and tried to stay hidden. My parents came through the front door and tried to kill me but that was actually the end of it. Thank god it wast just a dream.

I live in a big mansion with my mom and dad and as I already said my name is Cheryl. I have really long and strong orange hair. My eyes are dark brown. I just turned 16. My parents are pretty rich. I wear always black or red clothes. Everybody at school thinks I am loveless but that is not true. I used to love my big sister more than anything in the world, but I have never heard about her since she moved away with her just born twins. Anyway that is enough you need to know about me.

I got up from bed and changed my clothes, its pretty hard to choose of so many options but today I went with a red sweater and a black skirt. I brushed my hair and left it open. I have a really big room with a beautiful bed. All the furniture in my room is antique. My all lockers are decorated with pearls. My door is made of really beautiful brown wood. My room is on the second floor so every morning I walk down our long wooden stairs. At the second when I stepped out of my room I new everything wasnt right. I didn't hear my parents laughing or talking in the kitchen. I ran down the stairs and noticed that my parents werent there. When I walked closer I saw a note that said: Cheryl dont worrie we are just shopping. I was really relieved. Well, because I didn´t have my breakfeast ready I made some toast and eggs. It had been atleast two hours and I was already getting worried about my mom and dad. It started raining and I was in my room reading a book. I remembered my last nights dream and just for safety I decided to take a look outside. And that turned out to be my biggest mistake.

All the streets were flooded. I was terrified of what I saw. There were people screaming and trying to get cover. Blood came out of their mouths. I couldn't watch it any further. My legs failed me and I fell to the ground. I was trying to breathe quietly and calmly but I started to cry. My biggest nightmare had become true. Then I remembered that my parents were still somewhere outside. I started panicing and searched for my phone. I called my mom but she didn't answer. I forced myself to go down stairs and look through the window. It was still raining. I saw people on the street chasing each other with bloody hands. There was something really off with the people. They were really pale and as I already said they were bloody. Other still normal people tried to run away screaming. I locked all the doors and windows. I also pulled the curtains on the windows so anybody wouldn't find me.

It was still raining but not so hard anymore. I wanted to get my mind off it, so I went to the kitchen and took some ice cream and took it up stairs to my room. After I ate my ice cream I started reading and listened if the rain had stopped but it hadn't. I almost fell on the ground when I heard a knock on the door. I went downstairs. I looked through the window to see who was out there. I didn't see a infected crazy human, I saw a girl that was probably the same age as me. She had blonde hair that was tied up on a high ponitail. She had the same colour eyes as me. I went to the door and opened it. The girl asked if she could come inside. I hesitated for a moment but she looked harmless so I let her come in. When she was in our house I locked the door again. I really didn't know what to say to her, but I didn't have to. She asked: "What is your name?" Cheryl, what's yours, I wondered. She explained: "I'm Betty and if you wonder why I'm here or were are my parents, they were at work when the rain started and I was outside without my keys, but I found shelter and then came to your house. I said: "Well my parents were shopping when it started, I tried to call them but they didn't answer. So I have just been here eating some ice cream not knowing what to do." I guess we just wait until the rain stops and then go outside to see what is happening there, Betty suggested. I answered: "Okay, but let's still be careful." Of course, Betty said. Are you hungry, I asked. Betty replied: "Actually yes, I haven't eaten since yesterday." You can take some bread, or actually my mom made some chicken soup yesterday, I offered. I could take some soup, Betty said kindly. When Betty had eaten the soup, the rain had already stopped. We looked outside and as weird as it sounds the sun was shining and the streets were already dry. I took my umbrella just in case if it would start raining again. When we got outside, everything was really weird because everything was normal. The streets were all normal including the people. People were walking and chatting and little children were palying in the park. We looked at each other, we were very confused. I didn't know what else to do so I took my phone and called my mom. This time she answered. My mom said with a normal voice: "Hi Cheryl is something wrong?" I didn't know what to say, I was shaking. Mom are you alright and were are you, I asked probably with a wavering voice. Of course I am and I'm still shopping with your father, she wondered. I looked at Betty for help but she was as helpless as I was. I said hesitantly: "But, do you feel all normal or are the people around you normal?" Okay Cheryl what's going on, she asked. But what about the rain, I asked already losing my patience. Mom said with a worrying voice: "Are you sick Cheryl, don't worrie I will be there in an half an hour. She hung off. Betty asked: "What do we do know?" I actually don't know, I replied.

After my mom came home Betty called her parents and of course they were all fine as well. My mom asked me if she should call the doctor but I refused. After all everything was all good. I became best friends with Betty. We never told anyone about our "adventure", it was going to be our little secret for the rest of our lifes.

Onko tarinassa riittävästi fantasiaa? kyllä
Erityisesti jäi mieleen: Kaikki! Tosi hyvä tarina!

Onnistuin parhaiten ehkä tarinan juonessa.
Olisin voinut keksiä tarinaan enemmän tapahtumia.
Fantasiatarinan kirjoittaminen oli kivaa.
What a scary story!! I hardly dared to read it till the end. I-teller was very suitable to this kind of story and you described Cheryl very well at the beginning. Lots of horror elements during the story kept me awake really well.
Some minor spelling mistakes didn't matter at all. Well done!!!
