Physics as a Natural Science (Fy 1.IB)

Welcome to study Physics as a Natural Science. Fy1.IBa starts on Wednesday 11 November 14.20 in the physics class F1.006 (Fy1.7IBb starts on Thursday 7 January, 2016, in the physics class F1.006).

The course is based on the "Physics as a natural science" ("Fysiikka luonnontieteenä") course in the national Finnish physics syllabus. The course book is written by the teacher.

The lessons are conducted through English. You are encouraged to use on-line dictionaries during the lesson:
  1. A free English-Finnish-English dictionary:http: //www.sanakirja.org
  2. In OS X you already have the Dictionary program (monolingual).
  3. In the Windows App Store (Windows 8 and 10) you have for example https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/dictionary/9wzdncrfj1z0 (monolingual).
During the lessons you need a laptop computer (PC or Mac) with Logger Pro installed, TI-Nspire calculator, a notebook or separate papers (A4 size preferably), a ruler, a pencil, a pen and an eraser.

We have a written test at the end of this period. You are allowed to take your own bilingual dictionary book to the test (no electronic resources allowed for the language).

Your course grade will be based on the test grade, and on your working during the lessons including practical work, discussions, and problem solving.
