How are nations different from one another?
Nations are different in many ways. They have different histories. Some have been independent for thousands of years, whereas others have gained their independence only recently.
Many Asian nations have endured civil wars, where different groups have fought for the control of the nation. This has been the case recently in nations such as Syria and Afghanistan. On the other hand, some Asian nations have had relatively peaceful histories despite accommodating different ethnic and religious groups.
Nations have different types of government. The most common types of government are republic, monarchy and empire. In democratic nations, the people have a say in political decision-making, and can have their voices heard without fear of persecution or censorship.
Asia is full of different religions. The most common religions in Asia today include Christianity, Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism. In many Asian nations, religion has a central role in the daily lives of regular people.
Agriculture is still an important livelihood in many Asian nations. Some Asian nations, such as China, Japan and South Korea, have also become important industrial powers.
