In terms of the History class, the pupils of the 4th grade enjoyed a live history lesson on the holy rock of the Acropolis and its magnificent temple, the Parthenon. The Parthenon has been standing there for almost 2.500 years (447 B.C-432 B.C). It is dedicated to Athena, the patron goddess of the city of Athens and a visitor can still see an olive tree at the same spot where Athena had planted her own olive tree!
According to the myth, it was the olive tree that gave Athena the victory in the battle against Poseidon .
The city was named after her , Athena-Athens!
