 Global Citizenship School

Since autumn 2023, Pohjoispuiston koulu has been part of the "Maailmankansalaisen koulu" (Global Citizenship School) network organized by Taksvärkki ry. This initiative aims to enhance students' understanding of global issues and encourage responsible global citizenship. Activities include virtual meetings with students from other schools, participation in seminars, and involvement in workshops and training sessions focused on global education themes such as human interaction, critical awareness, and youth participation.  International Course

Offered as an elective, the international course covers themes like ethics, international responsibility, tolerance, and global awareness. Students engage in projects that develop cultural competence, communication, and expression skills. The course includes interactions with guests from various organizations and cultures, field trips, culinary projects exploring international cuisines, multimedia presentations, and correspondence with partner schools, such as the ongoing letter exchange with students from Réunion Island since spring 2023. DECI – Discover European Cultural Identity

The DECI project (December 2023 – April 2025) provides students with opportunities to explore European cultural identities. Think Global, Act Local Club

This club encourages students to engage with global issues through local actions. Activities may include community projects, environmental initiatives, and cultural events that connect global themes with the local context.

Collaboration with Chinese Schools

 Other International Activities
