sanctions at school
When I was at primary school, our teacher used lot of different sanctions for us when we didn't behave as was supposed to. Sometimes we got detensions and sometimes we had to do some extra work after school at home. For me it was normal, so I did not questionate it. I think the sanctions and punishments even helped me not to behave the wrong way. I have been at school placement in Finland, and I noticed one thing. Nowadays at school pupils get a lot less sanctions. Some of the sanctions, as physical pain, is totally oldfashioned method and away from the school for reason. I still think, that when the rules are known among the pupils, and they know what they are expected to do, and what sanctions they get when they don' t behave that way, you don' t actually even need to punish them. The rules and sanctions guide pupils to behave the way that is appropriate. Without them they get restless.
